Balestrieri was born in Palermo and began exhibiting during the early part of the 20 th century. He is particularly known for his monument to the fallen in the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in the town of Poggio Mireto. He exhibited 2 sculptures in 1909 and 2 more in 1910 at the Biennale of Venice.The National Museum of Modern Art in Rome has a sculpture in their permanent collection.
